Jaime Almenar, as a State Attorney, acts as the representation and defence for the State in civil, criminal, administrative disputes and labour jurisdictions.
Additionally, he legally advised the AEAT in its fiscal procedures of the application of taxes and sanctioning, and took on the active defence of the AEAT in ordinary civil, insolvency and criminal processes in its tax fraud dispute.
In 2005 he was named the Secretary of the Committee of the Telecommunications Market, his role being to provide advice in law to the Council and its immediate Services central office. As a result of this period of time, Jaime Almenar has broad practical experience and specialisation in the regulation of electronic communications.
At the end of 2007, he joined Uría Menéndez at their Valencia office, where he worked as the person in charge of the department of Public Law, with broad competencies in public and regulatory advisory in general, especially in matters of electric energy, electronic communications, public contracts, public domain, infrastructures and compulsory expropiation.
In 2013 he joined CMS Albiñana & Suarez de Lezo.
He has been selected as the Administrative Law Leading Lawyer by the Best Lawyers in Spain directory, in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
He holds a degree in Law at the University of Valencia (1995), and he is State Attorney (promotion in the year 1998) currently on leave of absence.
Chairperson of the Tribunal of access to the Body of Technicians of the General Administration of the Valencian Generalitat (Valencia 2003 and 2004). Fiscalis Program involving an exchange of public servants of the Fiscal Administrations of the Member States of the European Unión (Stockholm, 2002). He has delivered courses and presentations in various public and private forums.
